The Zoll AED Plus is the automated external defibrillator that talks back to you, giving you feedback when doing CPR. The Zoll AED Plus is a unit which does it all. Besides being an automated external defibrillator which puts your heart back into it's normal rhythm, it also tells you how and when to perform CPR, guiding you through the entire resuscitation process and giving you feedback to make sure you do everything right.
The use of an AED is a critical component of CPR. Once you have delivered life-saving shocks to your patient, you need to perform chest compressions and rescue breathing on your patient to continue to get oxygen to their brain while waiting for Emergency Medical Technicians to arrive. During an emergency, it can be difficult to remember all the proper steps of CPR. With the Zoll AED Plus, you won't need to remember how to perform CPR. Instead, the Zoll aed gives you clear voice prompts, pictures, and text display to guide you through the process of CPR and defibrillation.
Zoll's reason for designing a cardiac defibrillator which gives CPR feedback is to save more lives. When the American Heart Association pronounced that the number one problem associated with administering CPR was poor quality compressions, Zoll decided to correct this problem by incorporating real time CPR instruction and feedback into the Zoll AED Plus unit. This makes the Zoll AED Plus perfect for novice users.
Zoll AED pads, specifically the CPR-D Padz for adults is a unique single-piece electrode. The one piece makes it easy to place on the victim since it covers the entire chest area. The CPR-D padz goes on easy and has markings to show you where your hands should be placed for proper chest compressions on your patient. The CPR-D Padz do not provide a shock unless one is needed. ZOLL AED PADS NOW HAVE A SHELF LIFE OF 5 YEARS. THE LONGEST IN THE INDUSTRY.
The Zoll AED Plus defibrillator can safely defibrillate children from 1 to 8 years of age, using the optional Pedi-Padz II electrodes. The Pedi-Padz II helps the Zoll AED Plus unit recognize that a pediatric rescue is in progress. The result is the Zoll AED Plus uses ECG analysis designed specifically for a pediatric heart rate, and the appropriate defibrillation energy levels to effectively defibrillate a child. The Pedi-Padz II can also be used for defibrillating an adult.
The Zoll AED Plus is the only AED that uses inexpensive Duracell batteries. Other AEDs use their own special battery which requires replacing after 4-7 years. With the Zoll AED Plus, there's no need to purchase proprietary battery packs for this machine. And Zoll's Batteries last up to 5 years.
